DMAL Holder (Designated Marketing Authorization Holder)

A Japanese legal entity that holds the marketing authorization for a medical device in Japan. Foreign manufacturers must appoint a DMAL holder for PMDA submissions. The DMAL holder is responsible for QMS compliance, vigilance, and regulatory communication.
